Booking in advance is recommended, as availability is limited each month.
Choosing the Right Maternity Photographer
Experience, Expertise & Attention to Detail
Pregnancy is one of the most extraordinary journeys you'll ever go through — physically, emotionally, and in every way in between. My aim is to make your time in the studio feel less like a photoshoot and more like a couple of hours spent entirely for you. An unhurried and unique experience which is hugely enjoyable.
Using professional studio lighting and a range of modifiers, I shape the light around you to create images that can feel soft and intimate one moment, bold and dramatic the next. Every look is considered, and every setup is designed with your comfort and your bump in mind.
What makes my work feel timeless is the quiet attention given to how light falls, how a pose feels, and how a moment is framed. Whether you come alone, with your partner, or with little ones already in tow, the session is built around you and what feels natural.
These are photographs you'll return to. Images your child will one day look through and understand, in some small way, just how loved they were before they even arrived.
Studio Maternity Photography & Styled Sessions
Whether you're looking for an intimate fine art naked maternity portraits, a styled couples shoot, or a classic clothed maternity photoshoot, this is a service designed to deliver a consistently high-end experience — with beautiful results to match.
What to Wear for Your Photoshoot
Choosing what to wear for your photoshoot can feel overwhelming, but the right outfit makes a significant difference to how your images look and how confident you feel.
As a maternity photographer in London specialising in studio-based pregnancy photography, each session is styled to highlight your shape in a simple, elegant way. This guide covers the best outfit ideas, what works beautifully on camera, and how to prepare for your session.
How Many Outfits Should You Bring?
Keeping It Simple
2–3 outfits is ideal.
This allows for:
variety in your final gallery
enough time for relaxed changes
consistency in styling
What Colours Work Best:
Neutral, Soft & Timeless Tones
Colours play an important role in the overall feel of your pregnancy photos.
The most flattering options include:
whites, creams, and soft beiges
black for a more striking, sculpted look
muted earthy tones
These colours ensure your studio photoshoot in London feels timeless rather than trend-driven.
It’s best to avoid busy patterns or striped outfits, as they can distract from your shape and date your images over time.
What NOT to Wear to a Pregnancy Shoot
Outfits That Don’t Photograph Well
To achieve a clean, refined result, it’s best to avoid:
loose, shapeless clothing that hides your bump
bold patterns or logos
overly bright or neon colours
heavy layering that adds bulk
A pregnancy session is about highlighting your shape, so simplicity is key.
Editorial Styling for Pregnancy Portraits
For a more fashion-led approach, pregnancy portraits can be styled with a strong editorial focus, inspired by the clean, sculptural imagery seen in magazines such as Vogue.
This style is less about softness and more about shape, presence, and confident simplicity, creating images that feel modern, elevated, and visually striking. You are encouraged to bring favourite outfits and shoes that reflect your personal style, whether that’s a tailored piece, a fitted dress, or something minimal and understated.
Careful direction and lighting are used to create polished, high-impact images that feel both contemporary and timeless.
What Should Partners Wear?
Coordinated, Simple & Neutral Styling
If your partner is joining your studio pregnancy session, their outfit should complement rather than compete.
Recommended options:
neutral tones (white, beige, black, grey)
simple, well-fitted clothing
minimal patterns
Keeping styling understated ensures the focus remains on you and your pregnancy.
Step 3: Your Photoshoot
This is where the magic happens. Your photoshoot will be relaxed, enjoyable and entirely guided — I'll offer gentle prompts and direction throughout to ensure we capture portraits you'll treasure. My aim is to show you your pregnant shape in a way you may never have seen before.
Step 2: Before Your Session
Once your preferred date and time is confirmed, your selected package fee is payable in full to secure your booking.
In the lead-up to your session, I'll send over some guidance on what to wear, along with ideas to help you prepare. I'd love to hear what style of portraits you have in mind — feel free to share inspiration via email or WhatsApp. If you're not sure yet, don't worry at all; I have a wealth of tried-and-tested poses and am constantly exploring fresh creative ideas to bring to each session.
Step 4: Choosing Your Images
Within one week of your session, your images will be ready to view. We'll meet via a Teams call where I share my screen and walk you through your portraits using a specialist programme that makes it easy to identify your favourites. Most clients tell me this is one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole experience.
I'm on hand to help you navigate your choices and guide you through the ordering process. We'll also talk through retouching options, as well as any frames, albums or folio boxes you might like to display your portraits in. You'll have around 60 stunning images to choose from.

Maternity Photography London – FAQs
What should I wear to a maternity photoshoot?
For your maternity photoshoot in my London studio, I recommend outfits that highlight your natural shape and feel comfortable to wear.
Simple, elegant clothing in soft tones or classic colours works beautifully under studio lighting. Many clients choose fitted dresses, iconic Calvin Klein underwear, or minimal styling to create timeless, refined images
How long does a session take?
Sessions typically take around 1.5 to 2 hours with plenty of breaks between poses.
Do I need professional hair and make-up?
You don’t need professional hair and make-up for your maternity photoshoot. Some mums-to-be enjoy the added confidence of professional styling, while others prefer a more natural look
How much does a maternity photoshoot cost in London?
Maternity photoshoots in London typically range from £750 to £2400, depending on the level of artwork and the number of portraits you choose to preserve this fleeting and extraordinary time.
Do you offer outdoor maternity photography?
When planning your maternity photoshoot, one of the first questions many expectant mothers in London ask is: Should I book a studio maternity session or an outdoor maternity photoshoot? Both options can create beautiful images, but they offer very different experiences. As a professional studio maternity photographer in London who is an expert in naked pregnancy portraits, shooting in a studio where I can use artistic lighting and soft shadows is the best option.
