Information about newborn photography sessions

Q: What is the best age for a newborn session?

The best time for your newborn session is within 7-21 days of birth, as this is when your baby is likely to still be sleepy and can be placed into those beautiful, curly newborn poses.

Understandably, this is not always feasible so I can certainly still get beautiful newborn shots up until 5-6 weeks of age.

Q: How long does the session last?

Your newborn session will never be rushed, allowing for both soothing and feeding breaks throughout, therefore they can typically take between 2 to 4 hours.

Q:Where is your studio located and do you come to my house?

My studio is located in Richmond, west London. TW9 2PQ and yes, I also travel to your home if you prefer a lifestyle newborn photography session.

Q: Can I book a newborn photoshoot at the weekend?

Of course you can! Please enquire while you are still pregnant to ensure you can book your preferred date.

Q: What do I need to bring with us?

As a newborn session can last for up to four hours, I would recommend you bring everything you’re likely to need for your baby such as spare nappies and milk. Babies look their best in timeless outfits which fit them snuggly. I love a white short sleeve bodysuit as it focuses all attention on your precious baby. Lastly, a pacifier /dummy can be very helpful if your baby is a light sleeper or unsettles easily.

Q: How soon can we view and choose our images?

After your shoot your images will be ready for you to view and order within a week. All ordered images are airbrushed by professional retouchers I have been working with for the past seven years.

All blankets and wraps are provided and are in keeping with the natural and minimalist style of the newborn session with me.
