The Art of Nude Pregnancy Photography
Nude pregnancy photography is about form, light and emotion rather than exposure. Using creative studio lighting, I photograph the natural sculpture of your body and the quiet intimacy between you and your baby.
You might choose an implied nude silhouette, a partially covered pose or a striking black-and-white portrait. Every image is approached with intention, sensitivity and complete discretion.

Black-and-White Pregnancy Portraits and Fine-Art Maternity Nudes
Black-and-white pregnancy photography and fine-art nude portraiture sit at the heart of my work. I am drawn to their quiet power and the way they allow shape, expression and emotion to take centre stage.
Every session takes place in a calm, private setting, with gentle guidance throughout. There is no expectation to pose in a particular way. We will create images that feel comfortable, honest and personal to you.
For many women, the experience becomes far more than a photoshoot. It can bring an unexpected sense of confidence and a new appreciation for the beauty and strength of their changing body.
All purchased digital portraits are supplied in both colour and black and white, allowing you to enjoy each image in both finishes.
Iconic Fine-Art Maternity Nudes
I often begin the session with artistic nude or implied-nude portraits, while your skin is free from any marks or indentations caused by underwear and fitted clothing. This is why I recommend arriving in loose-fitting clothes and removing your bra beforehand whenever possible.
These portraits are often much easier to begin with than you might imagine. For many of the poses, you will stand side-on to me and look down towards your bump rather than directly into the camera. There is no pressure to make eye contact or perform for the lens.
I will gently guide every movement, from the position of your hands to the angle of your face and body. Most women soon become absorbed in listening to the direction and moving from one pose to the next. This helps them stop overthinking, lose themselves in the creative process and simply go with the flow.
From there, we can gradually introduce sheer fabrics, underwear and clothing to create a beautifully varied collection of maternity portraits.
Many mums-to-be come to me specifically for artistic maternity nudes that celebrate their strength, femininity and changing body. Through sculptural lighting and considered posing, we will create elegant, iconic portraits that feel powerful, personal and timeless.
How much or how little you reveal will always remain entirely your choice.
What happens during your session
Your session is guided from the very first moment.
We'll start with a short conversation about the style and mood you're drawn to. From there, you'll be directed through poses that are flattering, natural and entirely suited to you.
Sessions include unhurried, guided posing; a relaxed and private atmosphere; and time to review images together as we go, so you always feel in control of the results.
What to wear (or not wear)
Nude pregnancy photography does not always mean removing everything.
You can choose:
fully implied nude (covered but appearing nude)
topless with oversize jeans
underwear or soft fabrics
completely nude
We discuss all options beforehand so you feel fully in control.
Your privacy and discretion
Your images belong to you, completely.
Nothing is ever shared without your explicit permission, this includes social media or my portfolio. Many clients choose to keep their photographs entirely private, and that is always respected without question.
If you are happy for selected images to be featured, that's warmly welcomed, but the choice is always yours.

Maternity photography collections begin at £750 and include your fully guided studio session, professional retouching and five beautifully finished portraits. Fine-art nude and semi-nude maternity photography can be included as part of your session at no additional cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is nude pregnancy photography safe?
Absolutely. Your comfort always comes first, and the entire session will be guided gently and respectfully. We will only create photographs that feel completely comfortable and right for you.
Do I have to be fully nude?
Not at all. Fine-art maternity photography can be as covered or as revealing as you wish. Many women choose implied nude or partially covered portraits using their hands, carefully positioned poses or soft fabrics.
I feel nervous— is that normal?
Completely. Most women feel a little nervous beforehand, especially if they have never been photographed in this way. I will guide you through every pose, and those nerves usually disappear very quickly once we begin.
Will my maternity nudes be shared online?
Only with your clear permission. Your portraits are private, and I will never share them on my website, social media or anywhere else unless you have personally agreed that I may do so.
What is your top tip for preparing for a nude maternity photoshoot?
Wear loose-fitting clothing before your session to help avoid marks or indentations on your skin, particularly from bras, socks and tight waistbands. I also recommend bringing a dressing gown so that you feel comfortable and relaxed while moving around the studio. I always keep a stool nearby where you can leave it while we are creating each portrait.
