Maternity photography sessions at my studio take between 1.5 to 2 hours - all depends on the style of images you would like me to capture for you.

Relaxed, unhurried and (hopefully!) a lot of fun.

Many of my clients arrive feeling a little nervous, which is completely normal. However, most leave saying the experience was nothing like they expected—in the best possible way.

I'll guide you through every pose, so you'll never have to wonder what to do with your hands. Together, we'll find the light, angles and expressions that feel most natural and flattering to you.

There's no rush, no pressure and absolutely no judgement. My aim is for you to feel comfortable, confident and genuinely enjoy the experience.

By the end of the session, most clients tell me they've had a wonderful time and that always makes me very happy.

The surprise of the silhouette.

Most women spend nine months looking down at their bump from above — you see the top of it, the stretch of your jumper, your feet disappearing. What you almost never see is yourself from the side, in a photograph, with beautiful light falling across the full shape of you.

The first reaction I see, again and again, is a kind of quiet astonishment. Is that really me? And then something softer: I look like a mother.

Partners often surprise themselves too. There is something about watching someone you love, in good light, holding new life, that brings out a tenderness that is hard to put into words — but very easy to photograph.

It might be — even if you are certain it is not.

I say this gently, because it is the most common reversal I see. Clients who arrive saying absolutely not sometimes leave with the nude portraits as their favourites.

Fine art nude maternity photography is not about exposure for its own sake. It is about the shape of you — clean lines, sculptural light, the pure and ancient form of a body growing life. Modestly draped images can be just as powerful. So can something bolder. What matters is that you feel completely comfortable, and that the images feel like you.

We will always discuss your boundaries before the session, and nothing is ever pushed. But I do encourage you to keep an open mind — because sometimes the photograph you least expected to love becomes the one you treasure most.

That worry is completely natural, and you're far from alone in feeling it.

My job is to make you look and feel wonderful. With years of experience photographing women at every stage of pregnancy, I'll gently guide you into flattering, comfortable poses and use lighting, angles and composition to highlight your bump beautifully.

Before your session, we'll also discuss your wardrobe so you feel confident in outfits chosen to suit both your style and shape.

Most importantly, pregnancy is a fleeting moment in your life. These photographs celebrate your body doing something truly extraordinary and will become some of the most treasured images you'll ever own.

Every client I've photographed has been nervous about something before their session, and many tell me afterwards how much they enjoyed the experience and how glad they are that they did it.

Almost every client I have ever photographed has said some version of this before they arrived.

Pregnancy changes your body in ways that can feel unfamiliar, even unsettling — and yet, from behind the lens, what I see is something remarkable. A body doing one of the most complex and extraordinary things any human being ever does.

My job is to find the light, the angle, the moment that shows you what I see. With over twenty years of experience posing women at every stage of pregnancy, I know how to make you look and feel genuinely beautiful — not despite your bump, but because of it. Every pose is chosen to flatter your shape. Every frame is considered. Nothing is left to chance.

Most clients tell me afterwards that seeing their portraits was the first time they had felt truly proud of how they looked during their pregnancy. That moment never gets old for me.

This is entirely your choice, and both options make for wonderful portraits.

Solo sessions have a stillness and intimacy that is hard to replicate. When it is just you and the camera, we can be bolder, more experimental, more focused on the relationship between you and your own body.

Couples sessions capture something different — the way your partner looks at you, the instinct to reach for your belly, the closeness of two people standing on the edge of something life-changing. A close-up in black and white of a hand resting on a bump, or a forehead pressed gently against yours, can be one of the most quietly powerful portraits in the whole collection.

Many clients choose to begin the session alone, then invite their partner in partway through, so we capture both.

In twenty years of maternity photography, I have had clients cry quietly, laugh until they couldn't pose, have moments of profound stillness, and everything in between. The studio is a private space and there is no audience. Whatever you feel in that hour is entirely welcome.

Pregnancy is not a simple emotional experience. It is full of love and anticipation and fear and joy and exhaustion, often all at once. If some of that surfaces during your session, we will simply pause, breathe, and continue when you are ready.

Some of the most beautiful portraits I have ever taken came from an unguarded moment after a client had stopped trying to compose herself. Authenticity is always more beautiful than performance.

I offer a small, stylish wardrobe collection for clients to choose from, and you're also welcome to bring pieces of your own that feel authentically you. Blending your own clothing with items from my collection helps create portraits that are personal, timeless, and reflective of your individual style.

Before your session, I'll provide detailed styling guidance and recommendations to help you select pieces, whether from your own wardrobe or mine, that photograph beautifully and complement the overall look and feel of your maternity portraits.

Within a week of your session—often just a day or two later—we'll meet via Teams for your image viewing appointment. You'll be able to view your photographs from the comfort of your home on your computer or TV while I share my screen and guide you through the gallery.

To make choosing easier, I'll show similar images side by side so you can compare them and select your favourites. Most viewing appointments take around 20–40 minutes, depending on how quickly you make your selections.

Maternity photoshoots take place in my spacious warehouse studio at Studio A, 20 Canham Road, London W3 7SR, in West London. The studio provides a private and relaxed environment, with both natural light and professional studio lighting available to create elegant, timeless maternity portraits. Weekend appointments are also available for your convenience.

My maternity photoshoot experience starts from £750, which includes five beautifully finished portraits. Most clients invest between £750 and £2,400, depending on the collection they choose.

Following your session, you'll be invited to a private online viewing appointment where you'll be able to see your images and select your favourite digital photographs and artwork.
